In 2014, the World Resources Institute, collaboration with, set up the most incredible website in a long time. Called the Global Forest Watch, it allows lay people like you and me to explore databases on deforestation and forest use for any forest on the planet.

This incredible resource provides information via captivating visuals, from graphs to maps, and is starting a movement – a movement of forest monitoring by the average person.

Try it out for yourself – let me know what you think!

I’m humbled to announce that, along with a group of journalists from all over the world, I’ll be mining this database for stories and great graphics, in the hopes of contributing meaningful investigative reporting into some of the world’s most fragile forests. Stay tuned for more!
